Somali children look at a burnt car after a bomb blast in Hamarweyne Market in Mogadishu on July 24, 2013.
(CNN) -- At least one person was killed in Somalia's capital of Mogadishu on Wednesday when a bomb hidden in a lawmaker's car blew up, authorities said.
The blast detonated a car belonging to parliament member Sheikh Adan Mader. He and other lawmakers were out of the car when the blast occurred and were unharmed, police said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. In the past, the al Qaeda-linked Islamist militant group Al Shabaab claimed responsibility for suicide car bombs and roadside bombs in Mogadishu.
