Damascus, Syria CNN  — 

A suicide bomber wearing a belt of explosives blew himself up in central Damascus on Tuesday, killing four people, the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency reported.

Soldiers prevented a CNN crew from filming at the scene and told the team to leave. The soldiers at first allowed crews from China’s CCTV and Syrian TV to stay. Later, CCTV was asked to leave the scene.

The blast is among the latest violence plaguing Syria in its 2-year-old civil war. At least 80 people were killed across the country Monday, the opposition group Local Coordination Committees of Syria said.
