Hearing starts, adjourned for 4 suspects in Kenya mall attack

At least 67 people were killed in the attack

CNN  —

The hearing of four defendants suspected in the Westgate Mall terror attack in Nairobi last year has been adjourned until Thursday.

The hearing had been under way for only a couple of hours before the adjournment. The hearing was to determine if there was enough evidence to take the four men to trial.

The Somali terror group Al-Shabaab, an affiliate of al Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the bloody siege at the upscale mall in Nairobi.

At least 67 people were killed in the attack that started on September 21.

Questions remain about the attackers and the response by security forces.

All four suspects are believed to be from Somalia, but authorities said two had Kenyan identification cards and citizenship papers.
