(CNN) -- Authorities arrested "Scandal" actor Columbus Short Wednesday on a felony battery charge, prosecutors said.

Farrah Franklin, 33, was arrested near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on a disorderly conduct charge on Sunday, July 20. The former Destiny's Child member was released on $280 bail after seven hours in custody, according to the Horry County Sheriff's Office website. Short, 31, is accused of punching and knocking out a patron at a West Los Angeles restaurant on March 15, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said in a statement.

He was booked by the Claremont Police Department and released on $50,000 bail, the statement said.

A representative for the actor could not be immediately reached for comment.
