Strong earthquake rattles Nicaragua

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Nicaragua on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quake was centered some 11 miles southeast of Larreynaga, northwest of the capital city of Managua, at a depth of 6.2 miles.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
