Carly Fiorina said she "misspoke" when she claimed that 92% of jobs lost during Obama's first term were held by women
The number of women holding jobs actually increased over Obama's first term
Carly Fiorina admitted Sunday that she “misspoke” during Wednesday’s Republican debate when she said that 92% of the jobs lost during President Barack Obama’s first term were held by women.
Fiorina: Obama, Clinton economic policies hurt women
“Well, in this particular case the fact checkers are correct,” Fiorina said on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday. “The 92%, it turns out, was the first three-and-a-half years of Barack Obama’s term, and in the final six months of his term things improve.”

Fact checkers from multiple news organizations picked apart Fiorina’s claim shortly after she rolled it out Wednesday, pointing out that the opposite was true: more women were working at the end of his first term, than when he took office in 2009.
Carly Fiorina is just plain wrong on this ‘fact’
“I’ve just acknowledged that I misspoke on that particular fact,” Fiorina said. But she quickly pivoted to blaming the “liberal media” for avoiding her larger message.
“But this is what the liberal media always does, it attacks the messenger trying to avoid the message. Here is the message: It is factually true that women have been hit very hard by progressive policies,” Fiorina said.
Fiorina’s jobs hit is the second time that she has been widely called out for getting information wrong.
In the second Republican debate, she drew scrutiny when she claimed that one of the undercover Planned Parenthood videos showed an aborted “fetus on the table, it’s heart beating, it’s legs kicking while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.”

But the footage was not from a Planned Parenthood facility, or of an aborted fetus, multiple fact-checkers found.
