After Fukushima: Ghost towns and fractured families

More than 300,000 people were evacuated in the wake of the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant meltdown in 2011. Five years on, many are still unable to return to their homes, and thousands remain in temporary housing complexes only intended to last 24 months. Others have resettled across Japan, fracturing closely-knit communities and splitting up extended families.
