‘Bachelor’ stars Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell land spinoff

New York CNN  —

“Bachelor” stars Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are allowing cameras back into their love life. The newly engaged couple from ABC’s season 20 of “The Bachelor” have landed another reality show, “Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After” on Disney’s Freeform network.

The show will premiere in October and will follow Higgins and Bushnell as they prepare for their wedding. The series will also feature the couple as they adjust to life as newlyweds “while navigating the real world after the splendor of ‘The Bachelor’s’ exotic dates and fantasy suites has ended,” according to a press release issued by Freeform.

Couples who met and became engaged on “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette” haven’t had the most successful track record. An ABC special on the history of the franchise revealed in February only five couples have actually married. This spinoff indicates Higgins and Bushnell plan to be the sixth.
