Subject: Ohio Congressmen Support The Tribe

They say politics is sport. Today, the Cleveland congressional delegation brought sports to politics.

In a show of support for the Indians in the World Series, four Ohio representatives from Cleveland are wearing bright red socks pulled up over the cuffs of their pants, just like their hometown team.

Democratic Reps. Louis Stokes, Dennis Kucinich, Sherrod Brown and Republican Steve LaTourette displayed their fancy duds in a photo op on the steps of the Capitol today.

A couple of the Ohio congressmen have also made bets with their colleagues from Florida.

Kucinich bet Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) that if the Marlins win the World Series, she must give him a five-pound bag of oranges. If the Indians win, Kucinich promised to give her five pounds of kielbasa sausage.

Brown and Rep. Peter Deutsch (D-Fla.) bet that if Cleveland wins, Deutsch gets a wall-eyed pike (a fish). If Florida wins, Brown gets a Key lime pie.
