Poll: Public Admires Hillary's Handling Of Controversy
But people are split over whether she believes her husband
WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, Feb. 3) -- Nearly three-quarters of all Americans admire Hillary Rodham Clinton for the way she
has handled the allegations about her husband and Monica Lewinsky. But
the public is split over whether or not the first lady believes her husband had an affair with the former White House intern, according to a new CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll.
Only 19 percent say they are disappointed in her for the way Mrs. Clinton has handled the controversy, and most Americans do not feel sorry for her.
The numbers are based on interviews with 1,013 adults on Friday and Saturday, and the survey has a margin of sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points.
