White House Scandal At A Glance: Feb. 9
Today's developments:
- Former White House intern Monica Lewinsky has been subpoenaed to appear before Independent Counsel Ken Starr's federal grand jury in Washington on Thursday, CNN has learned. But Lewinsky's lawyers, Bill Ginsburg and Nathaniel Speights, are expected Tuesday to file a motion seeking to quash the subpoena.
- Lewinsky told yet another friend about her alleged relationship with President Bill Clinton, sources tell CNN. Sources say that Ashley Raines, who works in the Office of Administration at the White House, has been talking to investigators for independent counsel Ken Starr, and has been questioned in great detail.
- Roll Call, the Capitol Hill newspaper, reported that Republican leaders have discussed dipping into a $4.4 million fund to help bankroll possible impeachment proceedings against Clinton. The money would bolster the House Judiciary Committee's staff.
