Former White House Intern Subpoenaed
By John King/CNN
WASHINGTON (March 13) - A former White House intern who now lives in New York has been subpoenaed to testify Tuesday before the Monica Lewinsky grand jury, sources tell CNN.
Sources say Sherrie Densuk was an intern at the same time as Lewinsky, but has told friends she did not know Lewinsky that well. Still, one source familiar with the Densuk's subpoena says she will be a "significant" witness. This source declined to elaborate.
The Washington grand jury is looking into reports President Bill Clinton had a sexual relationship with Lewinsky, a former White House intern, and encouraged her to lie about it under oath. Clinton has emphatically denied the allegations.
Several other former interns who have been subpoenaed have contacted the
White House counsel's office for help in getting legal advice. But Densuk did not. She has retained Washington attorney Keith Watters, who declined comment except to confirm that he had been retained by Densuk.
