WASHINGTON (AllPolitics) -- The Senate acquitted President Bill Clinton of the two articles of impeachment approved by the full House in December. Two-thirds of the senators needed to vote "guilty" on the allegations in order to convict Clinton and remove him from office.

Perjury article: William Jefferson Clinton provided "perjurious, false and misleading testimony" before Independent Counsel Ken Starr's grand jury.
