Frequent Flyer Program Partnerships

There are currently seven members of the oneworld alliance: American Airlines, British Airways, Canadian Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia and Qantas. Members of the individual airline FFP plans can earn miles by flying any oneworld partner.

Passages, Asia's first frequent flyer program, was a joint venture FFP between Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines. It ended on Jan. 31, 1999, although credits may be redeemed until Jan. 31, 2000.

A joint FFP between Swissair and partner airlines, Lauda Air, AOM French Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Crossair, Sabena and Tyrolean Airways.

The Star Alliance has nine member airlines: Air Canada, Air New Zealand (joining March 1999), ANA All Nippon Airways (joining October 1999), Ansett (joining March 1999), Lufthansa, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Thai Airways, United and Varig. Members of the individual airline FFP plans can earn miles by flying any Star Alliance partner.

A shared FFP between Northwest, Continental and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
