Kitsch Report
Blame it on Leo and Kate. The massive success of Titanic not only revitalized the cruise industry but also revived the old-time notion of shipboard romance. FourWinds Travel, a California-based tour operator, is hoping its "Intimacy at Sea" cruises will become the Love Boat for the next millennium. The seven-night tours are billed as "intimacy-enhancing vacations for couples," providing small group seminars and couples counseling aimed at improving participants' sex lives and relationships. Three itineraries are offered this year: in the Caribbean (March 14-21), from Rome to Venice (May 29-June 5) and an Alaskan tour (June 28-July 5). Psychologist Stephanie Taylor is the onboard moderator for all three tours. Prices start at $2,270 per couple; spaces can be booked at 1-831-622-0800 (or by sending an e-mail to fourwinds@redshift.com).
