ASIA SOURCE
(www.asiasource.org)
Society News: This site is one of the Web's most sophisticated fonts of information on Asia. Produced by the New York-based Asia Society, it covers everything from pop culture to politics, book reviews to breaking news. There's a great archive of articles penned by Asian academics and Asia watchers abroad. The site also serves as a useful portal to a variety of experts, statistics and media resources from across the region.

SKI JAPAN GUIDE
(www.skijapanguide.com)
Slope Side: While snow is still relatively thin on the ground, it's not too early to begin planning a ski trip to Japan. This site is a great starting point for skiers and snowboarders researching a holiday in Japan. Navigation is relatively simple: just click on a menu of links to resort descriptions and recommendations, or go to a bulletin board where webmaster Andrew Lea offers the inside scoop on skiing Japan. The only weakness in an otherwise useful resource is its bookings section, which lists only one resort.
