Voters' Voice: Comments from GOP convention-watchers

PHILADELPHIA -- The following are the selected comments to Voters' Voice, an e-mail response feature of CNN.com's Convention 2000 coverage:

I am so pleased to hear all the talk about the Republican party becoming more inclusive. I think that we do have to reach out to all people in order to regain the White House.

Kim Oliver

This is a top notch convention! I am getting a good look at the condidate and what he stands for. I'm looking for a real leader this year for the White House.

J. Callaway

We need someone in office with the record and character indicative of the office and consistent with a government for the people.

Christopher D. Farley

The Democrats have their extremists in the wings, but they always seem to manage to stifle their voices. Why can't the GOP do the same? If it wants to be the "Party of the People," it must detach itself in some ways from a group that seeks more to exclude than to include.

Justin Pitt

The time is upon us. This Republican Party will lead us into greater days ahead. Honor will be restored not only in the White House but, in the United States.

Jeff Johnson

Dick Cheney said, "Does anyone, Republican or Democrat, seriously believe that under Mr. Gore, the next four years would be any different from the last eight?" Is he promising more economic prosperity, reduction in crime, no large wars, or the continuation of Republican witch hunts that do little more than waste taxpayer dollars?

As far as I'm concerned, it's another year and the same old promises made by both sides. How sad that with over 200 million in this country that this is the best we can do. I would not buy a used car from either Gore or Bush.

I was going to vote for George W. because I thought he was honest. But I would rather have a president that cheats on his wife than lies to me about that he stands for or hides behind vague answers.

Vicki Karmona

I'm a registered Democrat and plan to vote for Bush, I am so tired of Clinton-Gore lies and deception, and I would like to see dignity and honor restored to the presidency.
