Mira Sorvino won the Oscar for best actress in a supporting role Monday for her performance in Woody Allen's "Mighty Aphrodite."
Sorvino played prostitute Linda Ash in Allen's comedy about a sportswriter who tries to reform the mother of his adopted child. All of the nominees in the category for best actress in a supporting role were first-time Oscar nominees.
