In Chechnya, where intermittent fighting continues between rebels and Russian troops, Russian Orthodox churches, which observe Easter this year on April 14, celebrated Palm Sunday. Followers brought pussy-willow branches to church instead of traditional palm fronds to represent the palm leaves believed to have been placed at Jesus' feet as he entered Jerusalem.
