Demi, Van Dien to try comedy

A romantic comedy could be in the works for Demi Moore. The
actress is in talks to star in "Human Seeking Same." The
Hollywood Reporter trade paper indicates the movie is an
interracial romantic comedy.

Casper Van Dien, currently fighting big bugs in "Starship
Troopers," will be turning to comedy. Daily Variety reports
the actor has signed on to star in "Dream True," a romantic
comedy set to begin shooting in Prague early in 1998.

DVD is proving to be a big seller. The Consumer Electronics
Manufacturing Association reports over 200,000 DVD players
have moved in retail in the six months they've been
available. This is faster than the introduction of the
compact disc or the video cassette recorder. The electronics
industry predicts the first million will be reached by the
end of 1998.
Judy Collins is ready to help kick off the Christmas season.
The singer will headline a special on the Arts and
Entertainment network to be called, "A Judy Collins Christmas
at the Biltmore Estate." The show was taped last year before
an invitation-only audience. It airs December 8.

Kevin Costner has picked a project for 1998. Daily Variety
reports the actor/producer/director is negotiating to star in
"Message in a Bottle," a romantic comedy based on a novel
about the search for true love. Costner is looking to shoot
the film next spring and release it next Christmas.

En Vogue visits prime time this week on a episode of "The
Wayans Brothers" on the WB Network. The title of the episode
is, "I Was En Vogue's Love Slave."
If you've missed the Rolling Stones, your cable system or
satellite dish could be your bridge to Babylon. The Stones
concert in St. Louis on December 12 will be cablecast as a
Pay Per View event live from the TWA Dome. DirectTV
subscribers will get a special deal on the show. They'll get
it for free.
