On the blues track, from St. Louis to Chicago

CHICAGO (CNN) -- If you're a fan of jazz and blues, then you might consider this the ultimate getaway: a train ride paralleling the migration of the art forms from their Southern roots to the industrial North.

CNN photographer Tim Wall hitched a ride on the inaugural excursion of the Jazz and Blues Express.

We began our trip with Tim on Saturday in the city of New Orleans, and traveled to Memphis.

Now, join Tim as we pick up our ride in the land of ragtime: St. Louis, Missouri.

Our destination: Chicago.
