HOLLYWOOD (CNN) -- In George Lucas' world, Wednesday is the critical day -- the day that "Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace" arrives in cinemas after months of anticipation. It means something else to Lucas, himself: A vacation, albeit a brief one.
"When the movie comes out, I'm basically going to go and lie on a beach somewhere for a while," he tells CNN Entertainment News correspondent Dennis Michael. "But basically my job is to write and get the next one" -- that's the next installment in the three-prequel series -- "all written and designed by October." He says he plans to start shooting "Star Wars, Episode II" in about a year.
Michael talked to Lucas, and to some of the famed director's "The Phantom Menace" support staff recently.
