CPR brings bond between father and sonWeb posted on: Friday, June 26, 1998 3:26:35 PM BURBANK, California (CNN) -- David Crosby is a two-time inductee into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, having helped create two highly successful and influential bands in the 1960s and 1970s: The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. But his success in music pales in comparison to the life changes he has experienced over the last three years. Along with receiving a successful liver transplant and fathering a child, Crosby was introduced to his 33-year-old biological son for the first time. The result of the musical bond between Crosby and son James Raymond can be heard on their new self-titled CD, "CPR." On CNN's Showbiz Today, Crosby and Raymond spoke about their reunion. "His parents that raised him, who are two very sweet people, wrote us a letter, and also James met our keyboard player in Crosby, Stills, Nash, who's a dear friend of mine," Crosby says. "And that was the way that actually got him on the phone to me." Raymond says the timing was right to meet his dad. "I had just gotten engaged, and I'd just turned 30, and so my parents actually brought up the idea that it might be a good time for me to look," Raymond said. "There was a little bit (of fear). You know, there's always that question of wanting to find out."
