LONDON (CNN) -- The Rolling Stones have never played Moscow, but that will soon change. The group announced on Tuesday that they will hold a concert in the Russian capital on August 11. The news comes as the Stones are still taking heat for dropping Britain from their European tour because new tax laws would have cost them nearly $20 million if they'd toured there. The Rolling Stones' European tour starts in Nuremberg, Germany on Saturday.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Now that the Tonys have been handed out, some shows that didn't receive theater's most coveted prize are closing shop. "Honour" and the revival of "1776" apparently are going down in the next few days after not picking up any prizes at Sunday's Tony Award ceremony, the New York Post reported. "The Diary of Anne Frank," another Tony shut-out, will also fold Sunday after a run of 221 performances. Meanwhile, "The Lion King" reports ticket sales have increased following the ceremony in which it received six Tonys.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- It's settled -- for the next 15 years, at least. The Washington Opera announced on Tuesday it will remain at the Kennedy Center for at least a decade and a half. The decision officially ends plans to move the company into the former Woodward & Lothrop department store downtown. Seen by some as an opportunity to revitalize a lagging downtown neighborhood in Washington, the project of converting the building to a modern opera house soon proved too costly. Starting at a $100 million estimated budget, the price ballooned to about $200 million, The Washington Post reported.
MODENA, Italy (CNN) -- The four remaining members of the Spice Girls had a temporary replacement for the departed Ginger Spice on Tuesday evening. Opera legend Luciano Pavarotti sang with the pop group at a charity concert to raise money for the children of war-ravaged Liberia. "It's Beardy Spice!" a fan shouted as Pavarotti bellowed out the Spice Girls' new single, "Viva Forever." The event attracted other big names in music, including Jon Bon
Jovi, Stevie Wonder and Natalie Cole, who also performed duets with the famed tenor.
LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Actor John Travolta has filed a lawsuit against Silverado Films and Capitol Funding Group, saying the company ran advertisements to sell its stock in which it falsely claimed to be making movies with him, his lawyer said Tuesday. Travolta is seeking $5 million in damages. The ads, which ran in USA Today, asserted that Silverado Films was working "in association with John Travolta Films," according to the lawsuit. Jay Lavely, Travolta's lawyer, said his client never planned to make films with Silverado. Officials with the company were not available for comment.
