Harrelson
|
BOSTON (CNN) -- A jury ruled on Friday that Woody Harrelson must pay $4,828.30 to two photographers who had filed a lawsuit alleging the actor attacked them. The decision comes after U.S. District Judge William Young's ruling on Thursday that Harrelson assaulted the photographers and unlawfully removed film from one of their cameras as they took pictures of him and his family at the Martha's Vineyard Airport in 1995.
The photographers accused Harrelson of violating their civil rights and causing them pain and emotional distress. Harrelson argued that the photographers took pictures of his wife and daughter after he requested privacy, and said he was trying to protect his daughter's rights.

Weiland
|
LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Grammy-winning rocker Scott Weiland didn't show up for a Los Angeles court date to face drug charges on Thursday because he is
undergoing detoxification, his lawyer said. The judge in the case responded by threatening to have him arrested if he didn't show up by June 25.
The Stone Temple Pilots singer was charged last week in New York with heroin possession, and was admitted to a drug treatment center shortly after. The Los Angeles drug case, Weiland's second involving drug possession in Southern California, stems from two charges filed in February alleging felony possession of heroin and misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic needle. He faces a maximum of three years in state prison if convicted.

Tarantino

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Film director Quentin Tarantino now faces criminal charges for allegedly slugging a fashion stylist, police said Thursday. He surrendered to police in New York's East Village and was charged with assault. He faces up to a year in jail if convicted.
Tarantino was already facing civil charges in the same case. Leila Mwangi, 25, filed a civil lawsuit last month in Manhattan Supreme Court alleging Tarantino hit her May 2 with a blow intended for her photographer boyfriend, Barron Clairborne, at a restaurant in the East Village. The civil suit seeks $5 million in compensatory damages and $10 million in punitive damages.
