LONDON (CNN) -- "Posh Spice" is thrilled -- and sometimes ill in the morning. She's three months pregnant, and The Sun reports that she and the father, soccer star David Beckham will marry after the baby is born.

Posh, aka Victoria Adams, is not planning to leave the chart-topping Spice Girls, and the feisty babes have agreed to stay together during and after the birth of a real "Baby Spice." However, Posh said she personally may have to lighten up on the hectic schedule.

Posh, 24, was forced to reveal her mother-to-be status after bouts of morning sickness during the Spice Girls' U.S. tour.

Julia Roberts has joined the fight for California's old-growth redwoods

SACRAMENTO, California (CNN) -- The stars say, "Don't cut the redwoods."

At least 19 stars -- including Julia Roberts, Harrison Ford and Madonna -- signed a letter drafted by Woody Harrelson saying the California legislature's plan to conserve 200,000 acres of timberland is too little, too late.

The letter, sent to all 120 legislators, also says the plan agreed to by Pacific Lumber Co. and the government threatens wildlife on California's northern coast.

Pacific Lumber owns groves of 1,500-year-old redwoods in the Headwaters Forest about 300 miles north of San Francisco. The company want to save some and cut some. The government has a $138 million stake in the deal. Harrelson last year was arrested when he climbed the Golden Gate Bridge to protest the deal.

EVANSVILLE, Indiana (CNN) -- Carrot Top promised to be "as classy as they want me to be," and the music director backed off his objections to the comic's invitation to the reopening of the newly-restored Victory Theater.

Alfred Savia, the music director of the Evansville Symphony Orchestra, changed his tune about the manic comedian with the wiry red hair being "declasse" when his remarks drew national attention.

The 30-year-old comic said he was honored to open the lavish, 1,950-seat theater, which has undergone a $19 million renovation. He said his stage act is not the wacky comedy that he does on television: "I can be as classy as they want me to be." Savia said he is now considering going to Carrot Top's show with some friends.

Buffett

PITTSBURGH (CNN) -- Could be he's just workin' on his night moves, but rock 'n' roll pirate Jimmy Buffett was completely persuaded by a prosecutor who wants to be his backup singer.

Debra Barnisin was one of five finalists tapped to perform with the "Margaritaville" crooner when he appeared in suburban Pittsburgh on July 27 -- but she missed the phone message telling her that she'd made the short list, discovering her bad luck only after after the concert.

Barnisin tracked down Buffett and made her plea. "He said, 'That's the saddest concert story I've ever heard. You can sing backup with me anytime,'" she said. The prosecutor is off to Columbia, Maryland this weekend to perform in the sweet, sweet summertime.
