Season finales field songs and supermodels
May 21, 1999 From Sherri Sylvester LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- A little song, a little dance, a little supermodel romance. May sweeps continue with more spectacle than speculation. "The Drew Carey Show" borrows from a hit musical, as the title figure tries to preserve the department store where he works. "They're going to blow up the store and build a parking lot. I have to save the store, and I do it by singing "Brotherhood of Man" from (the Broadway musical) "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," he says. The cast promises its biggest production number to date. "We have to dance, dance now, dance a lot, dance hard, dance fast," jokes cast member Kathy Kinney. "I still feel it in my ankles."
William Shatner is making a guest appearance on "3rd Rock from the Sun," as the "big giant head." In this case, the "big giant head" is a misnomer. He takes on human form. "He's happy with the form," says star Jane Curtin. "He's sort of the 'big giant narcissist,' and he's also a big giant drunk." And he's looking for love -- or at least sex-- with actress Jan Hooks. "You've got to remember he's only a head, so now he's got these other appendages that he's enjoying a lot. Certain appendages more than others," Shatner says.
Model maniaCynic David Spade gets lucky with supermodel Rebecca Romijn-Stamos on the finale of "Just Shoot Me." Not to be outdone, supermodel Heidi Klum returns to "Spin City" in a cliffhanger called "Klumageddon." Other shows are rounding up the viewers with plot lines that involve a little less leg: For "Dharma and Greg," it's back to square one. They married when they met, so now they're dating. "Felicity" is torn between two lovers. "Suddenly Susan" takes a dramatic turn in a tribute to the late David Strickland. Comedy and drama mix on "VIP," as Pamela Anderson looks for a lost disc while undercover. Finally, "aloha" means hello and goodbye on "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." Melissa Joan Hart, who plays the magical teen, says things get a bit hot when she finds out the family secret. "I have to go to trial and then there's volcanoes involved," she says.
