(CNN) -- And now, the suspense is over. When Dustin Hoffman announced the 1999 Oscar nominees on behalf of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences last month, "American Beauty" led the pack with eight nominations. On Sunday, March 26, it again captured the evening, taking a leading five wins. The winners were revealed in a ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
