WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Clinton was joined by 14 children at a ceremony to light a Hanukkah candle in the Oval Office of the White House. Clinton noted that Hanukkah celebrates the victory of the Maccabees over those who wished to repress their religious practices, and pointed out that religious freedom "is the very first one written into our Bill of Rights." Clinton told the children, "You can be the Maccabees of your time."
