The 2003 Atlantic Ocean hurricane season was a busy one, with 14 named storms blamed for 62 deaths by the season's end on November 30. The strongest storm to hit land was Hurricane Fabian, which raked Bermuda with 120 mph winds in early September. Two weeks later, Hurricane Isabel, the season's deadliest and most damaging storm, slammed into North Carolina's Outer Banks.
