Camp As Sayliyah
Location: South of the Qatari capital, Doha.
Personnel: About 1,000 from U.S. Central Command.
Equipment: The camp has 33 warehouses that normally store tons of war materiel, much of which has been dispatched to Kuwait for possible use against Iraq.
Role: Exercise Internal Look, held here in December, simulated a war controlled from a new $58 million deployable command center. All the equipment was left for possible future use. Central Command's commander, Gen. Tommy Franks, would direct any war against Iraq from here.
