Challenge ahead for Sharon
Ariel Sharon's Likud party won convincingly in January 28 elections -- but the challenge of forming a stable government will give him little time to savor victory.
With Likud the top vote-getter, Sharon announced he would invite all Israeli political parties to join him in a new national unity government. Amram Mitzna, the Labor Party leader, conceded defeat but vowed his party would not join a unity government.
