After long search, alleged bomber awaits trial
Following a string of deadly bombings and an exhaustive search through miles
of remote woods, a rookie police officer captured Eric Robert Rudolph early
on May 31 at the rear of a Save-a-Lot grocery store in Murphy, North
Carolina. Rudolph is charged in four bombings -- one at a Birmingham,
Alabama, abortion clinic that killed an off-duty police officer and
three blasts in Atlanta, Georgia, including the 1996 Centennial Olympic Park
bombing that cost one woman's life and marred that summer's Olympic Games.
