Prince Charles marries Camilla
The heir to the British throne Prince Charles weds Camilla Parker Bowles, the woman blamed by many Britons for destroying his marriage to the late Princess Diana. The second marriage for each took place in a civil ceremony and was later blessed in St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The wedding caps a saga that has spanned more than three decades. Plans had been marked by a series of problems, including questions over its legality and a last-minute postponement to avoid clashing with Pope John Paul II's funeral.
