Darker areas indicate where oil was concentrated over time, and lighter areas indicate the maximum spread of the oil slick from its origin from nearly a mile below where the Deepwater Horizon rig once was.oil leakWith a click on the red markers on the map, pop-up windows reveal the latest photos and video of areas affected by the spill.
