The CNN Studio Tour will make another stop at CNN International. This CNN network began in 1985 as a hotel network in Europe. Today its coverage reaches homes in more than 210 countries and territories worldwide, including the United States. In fact, today CNNI has 100 million subscribers-- even more subscribers than CNN has in the United States. CNNI experienced the majority of its growth since its coverage of the Persian Gulf War. During broadcasts CNNI joins anchors from CNN bureaus all over the world (Washington, London, New York and Hong Kong) via satellite. Each anchor in each location is able to watch the other and see the other's script. This enables one show to be anchored from many locations by several anchors at one time. This system delivers viewers in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Pacific and North America approximately 16 live broadcasts daily. Similar techniques are used by CNN and Headline News.
