(IDG) -- Ever since Tomb Raider 2, fans have been clamoring to get Lara Croft back in the tomb. In The Last Revelation, Lara learns that she has unwittingly awakened the dormant soul of the evil Set. The only person who can put Set away is the person who freed him, and so the lovely Ms. Croft must return to Egypt and reanimate Horus (the god who imprisoned Set), sparking a massive battle to save the world. Sound fun? Well, with The Last Revelation's new emphasis on storyline and puzzle-solving, it should be.
Ancient tomb, new paint job With the new storyline comes a graphics engine that is around 90% new. Dynamic lighting illuminates the darkness of Egypt's glorious tombs, revealing new enemies like skeletons, mummies and sphinxes. Lara Croft aficionados will notice that their heroine is even more detailed than before, and she has moves the likes of which tomb raiders have never seen. Lara will also drive new vehicles, such as a jeep and a motorcycle with a sidecar! Dear diary The Last Revelation also sports a new inventory interface, in which players can combine items and access Lara's diary (you know you want to). You can attach a laser sight to your revolver to enable a sniper-mode and blast your enemies' heads off. Clip a flashlight to your shotgun and aim into those dark corners. Combine this with The Last Revelation's smaller environments and more clear-cut objectives, and we have a possible puzzle-solving smorgasbord.
