LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Three people have been killed this morning, and more than 20 injured in a fire at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. The fire broke out about 4:30 in a six-story dormitory which houses about 600 freshmen students. The residence hall filled with smoke, and there are reports that some students were trapped for a while inside. Firefighters quickly put out the blaze, but not before residents were evacuated in bitter pre-dawn cold. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) UNIDENTIFIED MALE: My roommate said to get out and I went down, I'm like I want to go back up and get my stuff, about 20 seconds later I was only down like a flight of stairs, and I went back up to get my stuff, and just black smoke just, like, I opened the door a crack and it just came right at me, and I realized I couldn't make it to my room. So I just ran right downstairs as fast as I can. QUESTION: Panic? UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes, it was all over, panic all over, everybody was panicking. (END VIDEO CLIP) HARRIS: Now reports on the condition of the hospitalized students are not exactly available right now. Seton Hall officials have canceled classes at the university for the day.
