DONNA KELLEY, CNN ANCHOR: And right now, we are able to bring you that news conference from near Flint, Michigan. Here's the county prosecutor.
(JOINED IN PROGRESS)
ARTHUR BUSCH, GENESEE COUNTY PROSECUTOR: ... state fugitive team looking for him at this point. Once we find him, we will be in a better position to proceed with the case.
Mount Morris Township police arrested an individual last night, his name is Sir Marcus Winfrey (ph). Mr. Winfrey was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant, and he is presently lodged in the Genesee County jail, He is a suspect in this case with respect to the gun that was found and the drugs.
KELLEY: Once again, we are having some troubles there. We apologize. We will go back to our Ed Garsten. Ed?
ED GARSTEN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, from what we can get from that, Donna, apparently the prosecutor has made good on a prediction he made to us this morning that they were very close to making arrests. Apparently, they have arrested somebody last night. He is in the county jail on outstanding felony warrant on gun and drug charges.
As I said earlier, they did find a collection of weapons in this house, where the boy was staying. And that apparently is going to be the target of any prosecution in this case -- Donna.
KELLEY: Ed, do you know much about the little boy. I mean, I know that he has been placed in custody, a state welfare agency. Has there been any word for him whether or not he has talked to some of the investigators yet, or how they are progressing there?
GARSTEN: Right, Donna. He, actually, now is in the custody of a relative whom the authorities have not named so far. Immediately after the shooting, he was taken into custody and questioned for several hours, then was placed in the hands of Michigan's Family Independence Agency, which is a social service type of agency, and then released in the hands of this relative.
So he is actually free. The prosecutor told us this morning, once they got some sort of paperwork done, where they could bring back in and question him further, then -- then they would bring him back in. But right now, he is under no bond or anything like that.
Prosecutors said that, at this point really, it didn't pay to try to charge a 6-year-old boy. Told us that earlier.
KELLEY: Ed Garsten, thanks very much.
