NATALIE ALLEN, CNN ANCHOR: Far from his home in Cuba, Elian Gonzalez received a visit today from a group of his Cuban classmates. The reunion took place at the estate in Maryland where Elian and his family remain in seclusion.
CNN's Patty Davis joins us from her vantage point near the tightly guarded compound -- Patty.
PATTY DAVIS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Natalie, beyond that visit, there is very little word on Elian Gonzalez's day-to-day activities or his family here at Carmichael Farm, but we do have new photos that have been released, taken by a professional photographer. They were released today by Elian's father's attorney. One of those photos shows Elian with his family, his father, his stepmother, his younger half-brother, a very content looking child; another shows Elian playing baseball with his father, Juan Miguel Gonzalez, here at Carmichael Farm -- photographs taken yesterday; another shows Elian caressing his father's face. Now, these are really the only glimpses that we've had of the boy. Media access to him has been strictly limited.
He and his immediate family, as you said, Natalie, are in seclusion here at Carmichael Farm, but they have been joined by those four classmates as well as a favorite cousin, a 10-year-old cousin, of Elian's, and a former kindergarten teacher.
Security, meanwhile, is very tight. U.S. Marshals are controlling the site. At the front gate, media kept far away. Here in the back of the compound, the Coast Guard is in control. They are patrolling, keeping a watchful eye for intruders. And, in fact, the Coast Guard says that it intercepted two groups of media over the past several days -- cameramen, they say -- as they tried to enter the compound.
Meanwhile, the Senate Judiciary Committee said that it is putting off a hearing scheduled for Wednesday on the raid that happened to take Elian from his Miami relatives on Saturday. They're saying that the Justice Department could not comply in time, providing it with the documents that it needed -- Natalie.
ALLEN: All right, Patty Davis, thanks.
