Edwin Edwards, Four-Time Louisiana Governor, Convicted by Federal Jury

LOU WATERS, CNN ANCHOR: Hello, I'm Lou Waters at CNN Center.

Edwin Edwards, four-time former governor of Louisiana, who once said, "They have not made a prosecutor who could ambush me," today has been convicted by a federal injury in Louisiana of 17 of the 26 racketeering and extortion counts against him. The verdicts are still being read in federal court against Edwin Edwards and six others who were tried for extorting money to protect casino licenses in Louisiana when Edwin Edwards was governor of Louisiana.
