THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
NATALIE ALLEN, CNN ANCHOR: As you might imagine, Firestone outlets are gearing up for much extra work. CNN's Dan Ronan joins us from a store in Atlanta to walk us through the process of changing the suspect tires -- Dan.
DAN RONAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, customers, Natalie, have been coming here since 9:00, when we got out here this morning. We have probably seen about 35, maybe 40 people come in to actually begin the process.
And we are joined by a gentleman by the name of Prokofiy Klocko, and he came out here about an hour ago, and has been nice enough to sit here and talk with us.
You went in and talked to the folks, and you have started the procedure now to get a recall. How did it go inside?
PROKOFIY KLOCKO, CUSTOMER: I don't quite know exactly right now. But I have two options. I will go to my dealer where I bought this car and they will check everything, and I will discuss with them how to exchange my car. So I have an appointment this Friday and then I will see, because I don't think I am going to buy another Firestone.
RONAN: But you have been watching your tires very carefully. You were showing me the receipts that you have been very careful about the maintenance, and watching them very, very closely.
KLOCKO: It is because I feel like tires change their behavior on the road. They didn't keep right now in the rain not keep the road.
RONAN: A lot of slide?
KLOCKO: Yeah, a lot of slide, and if it is dry, it slide, I usually on the road, so when I drive over here first time I feel it slide, but that's why I check it several times each year, and it doesn't help.
RONAN: Let's take a look at the tire pressure. That is one of the things we were talking about. One of the things that the Ford Motor Company has been talking about is tire pressure and making sure that your tire are properly inflated. So what we are going to do is check Prokofiy's tire pressure down here.
They say do not exceed 40 pounds PSI, and if we got it right, we are right at about 38 on the PSI for Prokofiy's tires. He's in pretty good shape.
Now, the Firestone/Bridgestone company has come up with an 800- line number. If you have question about the recall and you need to get more information. The number is 1-800-465-1904; that is 1-800- 465-1904.
Reporting live in Atlanta, Dan Ronan, CNN -- Natalie.
ALLEN: All right, thank you, Dan.
