KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Some Colorado golfers have a mascot. Let's meet some golf enthusiasts in Colorado Springs now where a four- legged companion is par for the course.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: George, how have you been?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: George!
FARAH MITCHELL, GEORGE'S OWNER: We used to just keep him in the backyard. And he got to where he could tell when the golfers were coming around, and he'd go stand over on the fence and beg for treats.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Great dog. A wonderful dog.
MITCHELL: Then we started tying him up, but then the golfers started complaining. They wanted us to let him loose.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Oh, that George, he's...
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He's unique. He's one of a kind.
MITCHELL: Pretty much all day, he rides with the golfers. He'll ride about three or four holes with one set of golfers and then switches.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He's just everybody's buddy.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He runs all day long chasing the gophers.
MITCHELL: He finally gets them. I don't know. I think he kind of helps keep the gopher population down. I think he needs a raise.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: George keeps the place very interesting, otherwise this would be a mundane, boring job. He loves hot dogs and pond water.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Oh, yes, George, he follows me all around. I take him home a lot of times and he'll beat me back to the house. Uh- oh, he's going after another cart. Bye, George.
PHILLIPS: We'd like to thank KKTV in Colorado Springs for that report.
