Aired September 29, 2000 - 2:58 p.m. ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, CO-HOST, CNN "BURDEN OF PROOF": "BURDEN OF PROOF" was spawned by the O.J. Simpson case. It has enjoyed a very loyal audience, because we take you inside the courtroom and we actually have the experience.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP, CNN "BURDEN OF PROOF")

VAN SUSTEREN: He himself hasn't spoken to any witnesses. Instead...

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ROGER COSSACK, CO-HOST, CNN "BURDEN OF PROOF": We're a breaking news network, and like every other show at CNN, we want to stay on the edge and stay right where the news is.

VAN SUSTEREN: I have to interrupt you right there, Amy (ph). We have O.J. Simpson on the telephone.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

COSSACK: We at that time were the only ones that ever had a chance to speak to him.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP, CNN "BURDEN OF PROOF")

O.J. SIMPSON, FORMER PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL PLAYER: But they are trying to use that material to make me look like an animal. COSSACK: O.J., tell me how Ron Goldman...

(END VIDEO CLIP)

LAUREN OTTARSH, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: I think since the Simpson trial, the audience has become more sophisticated about watching law and being attuned to the legal issue that are out there. And I think that Roger and Greta contributed a tremendous amount to that audience sophistication and to that audience interest.

VAN SUSTEREN: People love the law, and so they love "BURDEN OF PROOF," because "BURDEN OF PROOF" has become analogous with the law. The law, unlike Hollywood, is unscripted. You never know what is going to happen.
