Gore Holds Campaign Event in Waterloo, Iowa

Aired November 6, 2000 - 9:48 a.m. ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Waterloo, Iowa, vice president speaking in the rain there with his wife, Tipper. Let's listen.

(JOINED IN PROGRESS)

VICE PRESIDENT AL GORE (D), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: ... handled well in the caucuses. Once again, the fate of prosperity, and all of the items that are on the agenda, and part of the stakes of this campaign, once again, it's in your hands. And I know it's in good hands.

So after last night and this morning, and what you're about to do, I think that I'll end with a saying that's never been more appropriate: early to bed, early to rise, work like hell, and organize. Thank you.

HEMMER: All right, the vice president, again, in the rain there in Waterloo, Iowa.

Very busy schedule for really about the next 30 hours. The vice president opened up with a rally earlier today in Iowa, and from here he heads out to Missouri, in St. Louis. Then later Michigan, back to Florida. Then eventually later tonight -- late, late tonight -- back to his home state of Tennessee, and Nashville.

So we'll track it throughout the day. That's the vice president as he continues his day today.
