KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: The search continues now this morning for seven escaped convicts. According to a prison memo, the men executed a flawless escape on December 13, taking hostages and stealing a marked state vehicle.

BRIAN MILER, KSAT-TV REPORTER (voice-over): "America's Most Wanted" featured a segment on the seven Texas prison escapees who've been on the loose since last month. The national TV exposure is expected to increase the number of tips called in to police.

MILER: The seven took off from the Connally Unit in Kennedy County and so far have eluded capture, but efforts like this one give officers hope.

HALL: We're using every resource possible, and we're working day and night trying to get these guys recaptured.

MILER: If a tip comes in, they have officers standing by ready to check it out.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE (on phone): OK, what's the phone number there, sir?

MILER: The San Antonio Police Department is also ready. One call that turned out to be a false alarm was already logged here, but police say they're ready for the real thing. OFFICER AL BALLEW, SAPD SPOKESMAN: If we get calls into our communications, you know, we definitely have the staff available to deal with it, and the officers in the field to deal with the calls, so...

(END VIDEOTAPE)

PHILLIPS: Officials have doubled the reward to $200,000 for the capture and indictment of the seven fugitives.
