| Sunday Morning NewsSuper Bowl Predictions Pile UpAired January 28, 2001 - 9:48 a.m. ETTHIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. MILES O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: OK, Super Bowl Sunday, folks. KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Just hours away from No. 35, and many people who are placing bets on the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Giants, well, you might want to listen to our next guest. O'BRIEN: Yes, she's our annual guest, and she is dead-on accurate. Joining me from Chicago, Sister Jean Kenny, a long-time football fan who, we think, has some unfair advantages as to knowing how the future might unfold. Sister, good to see you. How are you? SISTER JEAN KENNY, FOOTBALL FAN: Great, thank you for having me on the show. It's good to see you. O'BRIEN: And we should remind our faithful viewers, because we know everybody out there continually watches us all year long, that she was absolutely accurate last year. Tell us what you did. Go ahead and -- you can boast a little bit. KENNY: Well, I was glad to have the seven points right, and St. Louis Rams were very, very good. It was a very exciting Super Bowl game last year. O'BRIEN: That it was. And that's an unusual thing right there. All right, so... PHILLIPS: You have a poem for us, correct? KENNY: Yes, I do. PHILLIPS: The yearly poem. All right, take it away, sister. KENNY: OK. This year's Super Bowl poem's title is "Billick's (ph) Birds Fly High at 35." A confident Trent Dilfer leads the way back to Tampa Bay. Matt Stover and his teammates will have a superlative day. Shannon will be sharp and have a lot to say As his victorious team will crow, Hooray! The Giants will fall short in this pigskin contest, Winning at baseball is what New Yorkers do best. Art Modell's wild card Ravens will show zeal and zest. These vulturous players are simply the best. Siragusa (ph) flattening Cowlins will cause Kerry (ph) instant fright. Ray Lewis and his explosive defense will hit with all of their might. This ravenous team is Brian Billick's delight. The prize Lombardi trophy is finally in sight. Go, Ravens! I predict the final score will be 21 to 10, Baltimore Ravens. O'BRIEN: Twenty-one to 10? I'm sorry... KENNY: Yes, I don't think it's going to be a 9-6 game. O'BRIEN: No kidding, no kidding. And what makes you say that? Because this is -- everybody's talking about defense this year. KENNY: Right. Those are the experts. We'll see what -- we'll see who wins on this one. But I think it's going to be a regular, you know, medium-scoring game, not as high-scoring as last year. But I don't think it's going to be 9-6. PHILLIPS: Sister, what do you think of some of these athletes who have been getting into a bit of trouble with the law lately? KENNY: Well, they're certainly not role models, and they need some professional help. O'BRIEN: All right, we'll just keep it at that, I guess, sister. KENNY: Yes. O'BRIEN: They can ask for their own forgiveness, each individually. KENNY: That's right. O'BRIEN: All right, Sister Jean Kenny, our annual prognosticator, we appreciate you joining us from Chicago, as always. And we will hopefully see you next go-round. KENNY: Same time next year. O'BRIEN: All right, see you then, Sister Jean. TO ORDER A VIDEO OF THIS TRANSCRIPT, PLEASE CALL 800-CNN-NEWS OR USE OUR SECURE ONLINE ORDER FORM LOCATED AT www.fdch.com |
