AARON BROWN, CNN ANCHOR: That's Richard Boucher, at the State Department, the spokesman for the State Department. We expect he may talk about the anthrax case that came up there.

(JOINED IN PROGRESS)

RICHARD BOUCHER, STATE DEPARTMENT SPOKESMAN: ... pouch facility in Sterling, Virginia, as I think I told you last night, this person's confirmed to have inhalational anthrax. He is currently in guarded but stable condition at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia. And that's his status.

Now, we're taking a number of steps. I think I've described to you how employees who work in our mail-handling are taking Cipro, taking the antibiotics. People who work at the main center in Sterling, Virginia -- who worked there; it's now shut down -- are taking 60 days of it. The rest of the people in the mail-handling in this building and elsewhere are taking 10 days. We've instructed our overseas posts to give Cipro to their employees who handle the bulk mail, and that'll be done.

BROWN: Richard Boucher -- a very brief update on the anthrax procedures that are being handled by State Department employees.
