WOLF BLITZER, CNN ANCHOR: O.J. Simpson's attorney, Yale Galanter, is now speaking about the raid by the FBI in his client's home. Let's listen in.

(JOINED IN PROGRESS)

YALE GALANTER, O.J. SIMPSON'S ATTORNEY: ... and you saw me arrive here at about 8:30 or 9:00.

I immediately contacted the U.S. Attorney's office and was put in touch with the lead prosecutor in the investigation and also the case agent. Mr. Simpson and I have fully cooperated with the FBI. There were no incidents. There were no problems. The FBI was extremely courteous and extremely professional.

We are also cooperating with the U.S. Attorney's office. As you know and it has been reported in the media, this investigation involves -- and I quote -- according to media sources, "an ongoing international ecstasy drug ring and money laundering."

I can assure you that Mr. Simpson doesn't have enough cash in his pocket or in his bank account to ever be involved in any type of money laundering. There were no, and I repeat no, ecstasy pills found in Mr. Simpson's home or in his automobile or on his person. He has never been and never will be involved in any type of illegal drug use, dealing, or sale. If you have some questions, I would be happy to take them.

QUESTION: What about the marijuana found in the house.

GALANTER: There was no marijuana found in the house.

QUESTION: We were told that there was a small, personal use amount of marijuana found in the back bedroom.

GALANTER: Who told you that, Brian?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I'm hearing that from different federal agents involved...

GALANTER: Why, I would like to know who you heard that from. Because, first of all, if you heard that from a federal agent or authority, it would be in direct violation of a court order and they will be held in contempt of court. QUESTION: Was there marijuana found in the house here?

GALANTER: Hold on. There was no marijuana found in the house. None.

QUESTION: (UNINTELLIGIBLE)

I said there was no marijuana found in the house.

QUESTION: How about the satellite TV...

GALANTER: Mr. Simpson does have a number of satellite TV dishes that he brought here from California. Those devices were taken and I assume they are being analyzed by the FBI.

QUESTION: What about the car...

GALANTER: Let me just say one other thing in that respect. I think you would all realize and appreciate the fact that this warrant was not about a satellite dish or car that Mr. Simpson may have. Normally, in law enforcement here in the southern district, you know, we don't have 30 or 40 FBI agents raid someone's house because there's an allegation that they have a satellite card that they should not have.

Anyway, all of this -- all of the equipment that Mr. Simpson does have which the FBI did take was from California.

QUESTION: (UNINTELLIGIBLE)

GALANTER: Well, I've known about the case since yesterday. I've spoken with the U.S. Attorney's office. We know that the focus of the case has to do with ecstasy and an ongoing drug investigation. The agents that were here were part of an ongoing Colombian drug task force. There were no ecstasy pills, any cocaine or any type of illegal narcotic that was found in Mr. Simpson's home.

QUESTION: Does Mr. Simpson know any of the people who are named in the indictments in any way?

GALANTER: Not to my knowledge. We have gone through it. Obviously, we are still gathering information. It is very early on in the investigation.

Obviously, a lot of your focus and the law enforcement focus has to do with the fact that O.J.'s name came up on a tape of someone else who was the focus in the investigation. And because -- I got it, I will. I will. Hold on.

BLITZER: That's Yale Galanter, the attorney for O.J. Simpson, denying any wrongdoing whatsoever by his client. As you probably know by now, FBI and DEA agents raided his Miami home earlier today as part of a drug -- ecstasy drug ring investigation as well as the investigation looking into the stealing of satellite television signals. The attorney, Yale Galanter, insisting that no ecstasy was found, no ecstasy pills were found in the home of Mr. Simpson. Also insisting there's no marijuana that was found either. He did acknowledge that O.J. Simpson did bring with him from California to Miami several satellite TV dishes, but they had nothing to do, he says, with any illegal activities.
