GENERAL PERVEZ MUSHARRAF, PAKISTAN PRESIDENT: ... that Chairman Karzai and myself, we are totally one on this issue of developing mutual brotherly reactions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Our destinies, as I see, are entwined together. Through history, we have interacted with each other and therefore this bondage will proceed, insha'Allah, in the future.

Pakistan is extremely interested in having a peaceful, stable, united, progressive Afghanistan as its brotherly neighbor because it does not only serve the purpose of peace in the region but it also serves the economic interest of this entire region.

Let me say without any reservation that we in Pakistan, I myself personally and my government, and I'm very sure that the entire world, at least all the leaders that I met, were extremely impressed by the able and sagacious leadership being provided by Chairman Karzai at this hour of need, hour of extreme need to Afghanistan.
